On this day twenty-one years ago, the world was shaken by one of the most tragic events in the history of our country. The Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO (TWU) wishes to honor our colleagues and all of the first responders who were lost on September 11, 2001. We also extend our gratitude to the first responders and all workers who were involved in the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding efforts after that tragic event.
As aviation professionals, the impact of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, has affected our professional lives forever. Flight attendants were among the first to perish and the first to fight back, establishing our permanent recognition and respect as first responders. The TWU asks all of our members take a moment to remember our colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice on that fateful day.
